street
Like any street photographer, I passionately capture everyday moments on the street. My everyday surroundings are characterized by dense urban landscapes. It's the unique excitement and spontaneity that can only be found in urban environments. For me, street photography is more than just a craft; it's a way of seeing the world, an art form. Sudden light on a face, two people who unknowingly cross my path, faces that have clearly seen a lot. The real, unvarnished, authentic, and unfiltered. Sometimes funny, touching, bizarre, or hair-raising. These moments can't be forced. Most of the time, they only appear when I'm simply walking, open to everything the street offers. Photography then doesn't demand a technically perfect photo. As long as the moment or the story is captivating, things like lack of focus or incorrect exposure are secondary.
I've moved on to seeking contact with people before or during a photo and seeking their approval for the photo. Of course, this sometimes leads to people feeling uncomfortable and refusing permission. It's my part to respect that. But most of the time, through contact with people, I'm rewarded with their kindness and their stories. My photos take on a story, sometimes perhaps even a soul. These are the moments that bring me deep satisfaction and happiness.
Although photography feels deeply intuitive to me, I can't pinpoint a single moment that has defined my style. It's a poignant fusion of my life circumstances, a slow accumulation of everything—my upbringing, the places I've been, the experiences I've had. Photographs I admire have also left their mark.
