Would you like a bit of the sea? - Admittedly, for me, Ayvalik is more of a case of love at second sight. Of course, the fishing town on the Aegean Sea, the coast with its numerous bays, islands, peninsulas, sun, and sea are probably the first things most people notice. Not bad, I'd say.

I was lucky enough to be picked up and taken to the old town following an invitation. My first impressions were of old cobblestones, dilapidated buildings, cats, dogs, trash-strewn narrow streets, and somewhere, the sea. Little by little, I noticed the many small cafés, lovingly restored houses, the color of the bougainvillea, the scent of jasmine. More and more often, I spent time with Çay, Turkish pastries, and conversations. Always with my camera, I now visit the barber, shoemaker, and baker, every Thursday at the market in the old town, and I never forget to visit the centuries-old tree in Macaron... Love at second sight.
